What Questions to Ask 1. Pictures are important. Just as you cannot describe the color blue over the telephone it is nearly impossible to describe accurately and in detail vacation rentals over the phone. Can you email me pictures of both the exterior and interior? 2. Sleeping arrangements. What is the size and number of beds, and which beds are in which rooms? 3. Parking availability. What parking comes with the property? Often beach parking is substandard in comparison to other parts of the country. There is virtually no "on street parking" available especially during summer season. Check and see if your Suburban with a roof rack will fit in the garage or parking space. It can be a real bummer to get to your place and then discover your vehicle can't ft in the parking space provided. 4. What amenities are in the property? Microwave, stereo system, dishwasher, laundry facilities, fireplace, telephone, BBQ are just some of the things you might be looking for. 5. Is it clean and well maintained? This is by far the most important information to get. Who is responsible for insuring proper cleaning and maintenance? Will someone be there for you when something breaks? Remember, just like your home, washers & dryers breakdown, water heaters blow out, TV's die (usually during your kids favorite program) and disposals and toilets clog. |
